Be Certain, Ask First, Leave Plenty

Never eat a wild plant or mushroom you cannot identify with complete certainty — many deadly plants have edible twins. Ask the landowner before you gather, follow the rules on public land, and take only a little from each patch so there is plenty left for wildlife and the next forager. The earth is the Lord’s; we gather as stewards.
